Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 27, 2026The short version
DOMCopy collects no personal data. There is no analytics, no telemetry, no tracking, no advertising, and no account system. Everything the extension stores lives in your browser. This page explains the details — and the few third parties that can ever be involved.
1. Who processes what
| Data | Processed by | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
| Picked elements (HTML, text, Markdown) | Your browser's clipboard | Only on your device |
| Extension settings | Your browser's extension storage | Locally, and via your browser's own sync service if enabled |
| License status (paid features only) | The developer via our payment processor | A license key you enter, and its validation state, in extension storage |
| Payment information | Our payment processor (Dodo Payments), never us | With the processor; we never see or store card data |
2. What the extension does with web pages
DOMCopy reads page content only at the moment you pick an element and press a copy button. That content goes to your clipboard and is never transmitted to us. To place its toolbar correctly when an element sits inside an iframe, the extension inspects the frame structure of the current tab — locally, and only while pick mode is active.
3. Third parties
- Dodo Payments (dodopayments.com), our merchant of record, processes payments for the Pro tier and emails you the license key. Their privacy policy covers the checkout flow. We receive no card data.
- The license-validation requests (checking that your key is still valid) go to Dodo's API and contain only the key itself.
4. Changes
Material changes to this policy will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above and in the extension's release notes.
